Depositing funds to your NBX account can be done in two ways: a fiat deposit via bank transfer (from the Deposit tab), or a card deposit using Visa or Mastercard (from the Buy/Sell tab). This guide walks you through both.

Deposit fees and minimums

* NBX does not charge fees for incoming fiat deposits. We credit the amount we receive. If the credited amount is not the full deposit, the difference is always the bank fee.

Fiat deposit - bank transfer

Step 1: Tap Deposit

From the home screen, tap Deposit in the bottom navigation bar.

Step 2: Choose your currency

You'll see a list of available fiat currencies: NOK, DKK, EUR, SEK, and USD. Tap the one you want to deposit.

Step 3: Choose your deposit method (NOK only)

For NOK, you'll be asked to choose between two methods:

• Direct deposit - connects directly to your bank via open banking. The first deposit from a new bank account takes 1-2 business days. Repeat deposits from the same account are usually processed within minutes to 2 hours.
• Manual bank transfer - you transfer manually from your online bank. Takes 1-2 business days.

For other currencies (DKK, EUR, SEK, USD), you go straight to the manual bank transfer screen.

Note: Fiat deposits can only be made from a bank account that matches your personal details registered with NBX.

Direct deposit (fast deposit, NOK only)

Step 4: Enter your amount

Enter the amount you want to deposit in NOK and tap Deposit. 

Step 4: Choose your bank

You'll be taken to the bank selection screen. Choose your bank from the list - DNB, Nordea, SpareBank 1, Sbanken, SB1 Østlandet, and Handelsbanken are supported. Tap Continue to approval and follow your bank's login flow, such as BankID, to approve the transfer.

If your bank isn't on the list, go back and use Manual bank transfer instead.

Step 4: Copy the NBX account number

You'll see the NBX bank account number to transfer to. Select your bank account from the Deposit from dropdown, or tap Use another bank account to add a new one.

Copy the NBX account number and use it when making the transfer from your online bank. For international transfers, expand NBX bank information for international transfer to get the full IBAN/SWIFT details.

Transfers normally take 1-2 business days to appear on NBX. 

Card deposit - buy crypto instantly with Visa or Mastercard

Card deposit is built into the buy flow on NBX. You don't deposit to your balance first - you buy crypto directly with your card in the Buy/Sell tab.

Step 1: Tap Buy/Sell

From the home screen, tap Buy/Sell in the bottom navigation bar.

Step 2: Select Visa or Mastercard as payment method

At the top of the screen you'll see two payment options: Visa or Mastercard and Balance (Available). Tap Visa or Mastercard. 

Step 3: Enter your amount

Enter how much you want to spend in NOK, or use the preset buttons (500, 2000, 5000 NOK). The app shows you how much crypto you'll receive, along with the trading fee (Fee) and card commission (Card commission). 

Step 4: Review and confirm your order

Tap Buy BTC (or the relevant asset). You'll see an order summary showing the amount in NOK, the crypto you'll receive, price, fee, and card commission. Check the details and tap Confirm order. 

Step 5: Accept QuickBuy terms and enter card details

On your first card purchase you'll see the QuickBuy terms. Read through them, tick the checkbox at the bottom, and tap Next. 

Enter your card details, or use Google Pay if available. Tap Pay to complete the purchase. Your crypto will be credited instantly. 

Troubleshooting

I don't see my deposit
Direct deposit: the first deposit from a new bank account takes 1-2 business days. Repeat deposits are usually processed within minutes to 2 hours. Manual bank transfer: 1-2 business days. If it's been longer, contact NBX support.

My bank isn't on the Direct deposit list
Use Manual bank transfer instead. Go back to the deposit screen and select that option.

I can't select my bank account
Fiat deposits can only be made from a bank account that matches your personal details on NBX. If the account you want to use isn't showing, contact support.

The card payment failed
Some card issuers block crypto purchases by default. Try contacting your bank to allow the transaction, or use a different card.
